Dribbling Drills for Advanced Control

To elevate your dribbling skills, focus on advanced ball-handling drills that challenge your control and improve your ability to handle defensive pressure. Start with the figure-eight dribble. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and dribble the ball around and between your legs in a figure-eight pattern. Maintain control and keep the ball low. Perform this drill for two minutes, alternating the direction of the figure-eight.

Another effective drill is low-pound dribbling. Crouch into a low stance and dribble the ball hard against the ground using only your fingertips. Alternate between your right and left hand, switching every 30 seconds. This drill strengthens your fingers and enhances ball control.

For dynamic movement, practice the three-cone weave drill. Place three cones in a straight line, spaced five feet apart. Dribble in a zigzag pattern around the cones, using crossovers, behind-the-back moves, or between-the-legs dribbles to switch directions. Complete three sets with each hand, focusing on speed and precision.
