Ball handling is critical for breaking defenses and creating opportunities. Begin with two-ball dribbling drills. Dribble two basketballs simultaneously for 30 seconds, focusing on maintaining control and consistent rhythm. Next, switch to alternating dribbles, bouncing one ball while the other is at its peak. Perform three sets of 30 seconds each. Progress to movement-based drills like the cone weave drill. Set up six cones in a straight line, spaced three feet apart. Dribble through the cones using crossovers, between-the-legs moves, or behind-the-back dribbles. Complete three repetitions with your dominant hand, then switch to your non-dominant hand. For added difficulty, practice with a defender applying light pressure. End your session with the zigzag pressure drill: dribble from baseline to baseline in a zigzag pattern while a defender tries to steal the ball. Repeat this drill five times, alternating between offensive and defensive roles.
